New Grants for small employment and skills organisations: new round of funding opens in October

Paddington Development Trust is giving advance notice of a new round of funding under the Community Grants scheme in West and Central London. A new round of funding will open on 7th October 2020 for projects to start in March 2021 (or later). The round closes on 2nd November. Grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 will be available for third sector organisations and SMEs (those with 49 FTE staff or fewer) who carry out employment and skills work. The funding has been made available by the ESFA under their Community Grants Scheme. So far more than a hundred small organisations have submitted successful applications in previous rounds.

In Central and West London* the allocation of grants is managed by Paddington Development Trust (PDT). PDT has called this programme EQUIP since its goal is to equip small organisations who in turn can equip local residents with skills and jobs advice. The money will be granted to organisations who support unemployed people, be they on UC/JSA or economically inactive, to get into, or to move towards, employment. This may be through good advice and guidance; outreach work; improving basic and digital skills; removing barriers; work placements; improving confidence and motivation; skills training and jobs brokerage. We are looking for organisations that can provide these services remotely or in safe face to face environments.

The funding is particularly targeted towards organisations that can help those groups furthest from the labour market including older people, carers, parents, some BAME groups, the homeless, refugees, young people and ex-offenders.

If you would like to add the name of your organisation to a list of people to be contacted as soon as the next round of applications is open, please fill in the simple form which can be found at: https://forms.gle/DosjcmM6EBwDwZSe9

You will also be invited to join a briefing webinar on 6th October at 10.30am. It is advised that you reserve the time to do this since PDT staff will be explaining the application form and summarising what makes a good application. Notice of how to join the webinar will be sent out to all organisations that have registered using the form above.
